Our Carnivorous Peat Mix is the perfect substrate for a variety of carnivorous plants. We recommend using it for Sundews (Drosera), Butterworts (Pinguicula), North American Pitcher Plants (Sarracenia), Bladderworts (Utricularia), and even Venus Fly Traps (Dionaea Muscipula).
This mix consists of Peat Moss, Perlite, and Coal Slag (a sand blasting material). We try to mix this in a near 1:1:1 ratio and we use a chunky perlite in our mix for additional aeration.
Our coal slag (sold separately) makes an excellent topper for your substrate or even a great base for aquariums.
