Introducing the Primrose Butterwort! Easy to grow, it comes pre-potted in sand, peat, and perlite in a 3.5" pot. Say goodbye to pesky gnats and other annoying insects - this quirky plant is ready to catch them all! The succulent like leaves are covered in a sticky goo that attracts and traps their prey.
This plant also packs beautiful purple flower(s) (see the last photo to see some of ours flowering) that also have a tendency to flower frequently in warmer climates.

Care Instructions
Note: The guidance below is for Primuliflora specifically. Other pinguicula (temperate and Mexican) can require immensely different conditions.
Light
Pinguiculas need partial shade or bright indirect light. Too much sun for some variants can hurt them.
Water
- Must be constantly wet (sitting in a tray of water – 1-inch or so is good).
- Only use distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water. Do not use purified water. Any water with > 50 PPM TDS will kill your plant over time. Filtered water is often not filtered enough for these plants.
Temperature
They will thrive year-round in indoor conditions, but can also handle warm temperatures. Plants should not be left outside in temperatures under 32F. Humidity should be 50%+.
Fertilizer
Fertilize in the evening every 2 weeks with ¼ teaspoon of MaxSea 16-16-16 mixed with 1-gallon of water. Spray the leaves.

My original was lost by the postal service, Mike graciously shipped out a 2nd shipment, which arrived very well packed & still plenty moist. I immediately unpacked it & followed the included instructions to set up my Butterwort plant for growth success. I can't wait for it to get a little bigger & help with the little bugs that show up from time to time. Mike was AMAZING to work with. Still waiting for USPS to finish their investigation on where my original plant ended up
This plant arrived in beautiful, healthy shape. I was a little worried about ordering plants like this online but very impressed with the thoughtfulness and care of the packaging. You would have never have known that the plant covered so much ground. I'd be glad to buy from Mike's Carnivores again! I can't wait for it to start eating my fungus gnats!
