Bring a touch of the exotic to your home with a Venus Flytrap! This captivating carnivorous plant potted in a convenient 3.5" planter is perfect for curious gardeners.
The Dente variant features shark like teeth that look menacing to any bug that enters your garden. This variants "teeth" tend to be shorter than the other various varieties, but are still all the functional.
Easy to care for, Venus Flytraps thrive in bright direct sunlight and moist soil (you can leave them in a plant tray with around an inch of water). They don't need to be fed – they naturally attract and devour spiders, flies, and other small insects.
During the winter, the traps will die back and typically the rhizome will be all that remains. When the warmer weather and longer days start, the traps will begin again and you may even notice that you have additional traps sprouting after dormancy or flowering.

Care Instructions
Light
Venus Flytraps love full sun and will generally not do well long-term indoors without an additional grow light. At minimum we recommend 6 hours of sunlight a day. To grow indoors we highly recommend this guide.
Water
- Must be constantly wet (sitting in a tray of water – 1-inch or so is good).
- Only use distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water. Do not use purified water. Any water with > 50 PPM TDS will kill your plant over time. Filtered water is often not filtered enough for these plants.
Temperature
These plants do very well outdoors with warmer weather and are native to the Carolina’s. They also will enter a dormancy period where much of the plant will die back or slow in growth in the winter. These can stay outside during a freeze or cold weather. Humidity should be 50%+.
Fertilizer
Fertilizer isn't required, but can help with growth and developing larger traps. Fertilize in the evening every 2 weeks with ¼ teaspoon of MaxSea 16-16-16 mixed with 1-gallon of water. Spray the leaves. As for food, they get their food from live food sources and need movement or stimulation in each of the traps to actually begin the process of digestion. You can feed live bugs, but generally they will catch what they attract.
Nice Looking Plant!
Was well watered and packaged when arrived
This one is probably my favorite 😍. Love shopping at mikes because they package everything so well! And i don't have to replant everything when it arrives. Both orders showed up perfectly and alive!! Wayy better than another predatory plant site that took 6 months to ship!! Way to go mikes caravores! Will be ordering again soon.
I got two of these VFT and one of the red ones. I was super worried where I have never taken care of VTP before but they let me email back and forth so many questions about care and were super nice about it! They just got here two days ago and were shipped securely. They were even nice enough to pot them for me beforehand because I was scared of screwing up. Definitely worth it!
Healthy, hungry and well packaged! I will definitely shop here again!!
