Dionaea Muscipula 'Red Piranha' is a striking Venus flytrap cultivar that was developed by Ed Reed. This plant is a unique cross between the deep-red 'Akai Ryu' (Red Dragon) and a "Dentate" variety, resulting in a trap that looks as fierce as its name suggests. Instead of the typical long, slender cilia (their teeth), the 'Red Piranha' features short, triangular teeth reminiscent of a shark’s jaw or a piranha's bite.
The entire plant exhibits a stunning, deep burgundy color throughout the traps and petioles, which only intensifies when grown under strong, direct sunlight. It is a hardy grower with a compact habit, making it a perfect centerpiece for those who love the "red" varieties of carnivorous plants.
These come pre-potted in sphagnum moss in a 3.5" pot.
